About
We invite all middle school students to participate in our C-Notes Choir. The C-Notes is a non-auditioned middle school choir open to boys and girls in six, seventh and eighth grade. Students are given opportunities to express their individual musical talents, and develop life skills that result in confident and expressive singing. Students learn proper vocal reading technique, music reading, and perform a wide variety of song repertoire. Over the years, the C-Notes have proudly represented the Chaminade family and performed three times as the solo feature choir at Carnegie Hall, Chaminade University in Hawaii; the Heritage Choral Festival in San Diego, the Louisville High School Choral Festival and other events such as the America Sings Festival in Washington D.C.
If you are interested in signing up, please complete the interest form here. The C-Notes performances include Chaminade Open House, Christmas Concert at the HS Tutor Center, Carondelet Center concert at Mt. St. Mary’s College, and Spring Concert at the MS. This choir competes each year in an adjudicated choral festival and has consistently earned a “Gold” ranking in the middle school concert choir division. The C-Notes have had the distinct honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 and were selected by audition to be the “feature choir” in the National Youth Festival at Carnegie Hall in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2019. They hope to do it again in 2021. |
